Yemeni forces launch hypersonic missile, drone strikes on Israeli targets

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) carried out a series of high-impact military operations on Tuesday targeting Israeli sites in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to an official military statement.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the YAF, confirmed that the group’s Rocket Force launched a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile at Ben Gurion Airport (al-Lydd Airport) in occupied Yafa (Tel Aviv). The missile reportedly struck its target, forcing the suspension of airport operations and causing widespread panic as civilians sought shelter.
“This precision strike was executed in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their Resistance,” Saree said. “It is a direct response to the ongoing genocidal crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against Gaza.”
Alongside the missile strike, the YAF’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit carried out three drone operations targeting sensitive Israeli sites in Yafa, Askalan (Ashkelon), and Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat). The drones struck key locations, though specific damage assessments were not detailed in the statement.
General Saree emphasized that the YAF will continue to escalate its military operations until the Israeli war on Gaza ends and the siege on the Strip is fully lifted.
Israeli media confirmed the missile launch from Yemen, reporting air raid sirens sounding across occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Shephelah areas. The Israeli military stated that air defense systems were activated to intercept the projectile, though it did not confirm whether the missile was successfully neutralized.
The YAF reiterated its commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, framing the attacks as part of a broader effort to resist Israeli aggression and hold the occupation accountable for its actions in Gaza.
According to Israeli Army Radio, Yemen has launched 53 ballistic missiles at Israel since the resumption of the Gaza war more than three months ago. Tuesday's strikes mark one of the most significant escalations in Yemen’s military support for Gaza in recent weeks. (ILKHA)
