Yemeni forces strike Israeli airport and U.S. warships in solidarity with Gaza

Yemeni forces launched fresh attacks on Israel and the United States on Friday, targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Jaffa—within occupied territory—and warships from the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, as part of their campaign to support Gaza amid its ongoing conflict.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni forces, confirmed the operations in a televised statement, vowing to persist until Israel halts its aggression and lifts the blockade on Gaza.
Saree reported that a “Palestine 2” hypersonic ballistic missile successfully hit the Israeli airport, marking Yemen’s third strike on the facility in just 48 hours. He declared the airport unsafe for airlines, urging them to avoid it until the Gaza offensive ends. In a parallel operation, Yemen’s drone air force struck USS Harry S. Truman warships for the sixth consecutive day, employing multiple drones to challenge U.S. military presence in the region.
The Yemeni actions follow a surge in hostilities, with the forces framing their strikes as a direct response to the plight of Palestinians in Gaza. In retaliation, the U.S. has conducted air raids on several Yemeni governorates, aiming to deter Yemen’s support for Gaza, according to the statement. Undeterred, Saree reaffirmed Yemen’s resolve, stating, “We will continue standing by the Palestinian people, regardless of the consequences, until the aggression stops and the siege is lifted.”
The escalating tit-for-tat strikes signal a widening regional fallout from the Gaza conflict, with Yemen intensifying its role as a key player in the broader confrontation. (ILKHA)
