Thousands rally in Diyarbakır to condemn Israeli massacres in Gaza

A massive crowd gathered at Yenihal Bridge Junction under the leadership of Islamic Civil Society Organizations in Diyarbakır to denounce Israel’s relentless bombardment of Gaza and the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people.
The demonstration, attended by thousands of men, women, and children, served as a powerful declaration of solidarity with the Palestinian resistance and a condemnation of the silence of the international community.
Carrying Palestinian flags and banners denouncing Israel’s war crimes, demonstrators chanted slogans such as "Free Palestine!", "Down with Israel!", and "Boycott Zionist Products!" The crowd was visibly outraged by the latest Israeli attacks, which have targeted refugee camps, hospitals, and schools where civilians have sought shelter.
During the event, Fatih Taş delivered a fiery speech on behalf of Islamic Civil Society Organizations in Diyarbakır, holding the Israeli regime, the United States, and complicit Western governments responsible for the ongoing atrocities in Gaza.
'The Savage and Barbaric Face of the West is Exposed Once Again'
In his address, Taş declared that Israel’s recent massacres, carried out with full military and financial support from the United States and its Western allies, have once again revealed the true face of the so-called democratic world.
"The massacre and genocide in Gaza have once again exposed the savage, barbaric, and real face of the West. The Zionist barbarians, insatiable for blood and tears, have once again violated the ceasefire agreement and resumed their massacres of the innocent. With each passing day, their war crimes grow more horrific," Taş stated.
He emphasized that Israel’s actions amount to genocide, targeting not only resistance fighters but also women, children, and the elderly. He further condemned the Western nations that remain silent or actively support Israel, accusing them of hypocrisy.
"They speak of human rights, democracy, and international law, yet they fund and arm a state that commits the most heinous war crimes imaginable. Their silence is complicity!" he declared, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
'The Sighs of the Oppressed Have Reached the Heavens'
Taş then detailed the latest Israeli atrocities, describing how the occupation forces targeted refugee camps, residential buildings, and even hospitals in a deliberate effort to maximize Palestinian casualties.
"They attacked again at sahur time, striking the homes of sleeping babies. Women, children, and the defenseless were mercilessly massacred. More than 400 innocent souls, including babies, women, and the elderly, were buried beneath the rubble. The sighs of the oppressed have reached the heavens, and the cries of grieving mothers have set the world’s conscience on fire," he said.
He noted that the number of martyrs continues to rise as Israeli warplanes relentlessly pound civilian areas, often wiping out entire families in a single strike.
"This is not war—it is extermination! It is a systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people, carried out in broad daylight, while the world watches and does nothing," he said.
'Where Are the Defenders of Human Rights Now?'
Turning his attention to Western governments and human rights organizations, Taş condemned their shocking silence in the face of Israel’s war crimes.
"Where are those who claim to defend human rights? Where are those who constantly preach about the immunity of civilians? Where is the United Nations? Where are the international organizations that claim to uphold justice?"
He accused these institutions of double standards, arguing that if such crimes were committed against any other people, the world would react with outrage.
"But when the victims are Palestinian, their lives are considered worthless. The blood of an innocent child in Gaza is no different than the blood of a child anywhere else in the world. But to the West, some lives are more valuable than others. This hypocrisy will not be forgotten!" he said, as the crowd erupted in applause.
'The Zionists Are Trying to Starve Gaza into Submission'
Taş also highlighted Israel’s brutal siege on Gaza, which has left millions of people without food, water, medicine, or electricity.
"The Zionists thought they could break Gaza’s spirit by starving its people into submission. They sealed the border crossings, preventing life-saving aid from reaching those in desperate need. When that failed, they resumed their bombings. But the steel will of Gaza's people remains unshaken. They rely on their faith, standing firm against their oppressors, while the world turns its back on them," he said.
He emphasized that Gaza’s people will never surrender, no matter how dire their conditions become.
"They are resisting not just for themselves, but for all of us. Their struggle is a struggle for justice, for dignity, for humanity itself. And we will stand with them until the end!"
Calls for Action Against Israel and the U.S.
In a fervent call to action, the Islamic Civil Society Organizations in Diyarbakır outlined a comprehensive list of urgent demands directed at Muslim nations and international bodies, pressing for swift and decisive measures to address the crisis in Gaza. They insisted that the Zionist occupation regime be compelled to accept a permanent ceasefire, ending its relentless aggression, while demanding that immediate humanitarian aid be dispatched to Gaza without any restrictions to alleviate the suffering of its besieged population.
The group urged Muslim nations to step up by providing military, logistical, and technological support to the Palestinian resistance, bolstering their fight against oppression. Additionally, they called for unwavering support for Hamas’ conditions for a just ceasefire, emphasizing the need for a resolution rooted in fairness. The organizations also pushed for an escalation of boycotts targeting Israeli-linked products and a complete halt to all trade with Israel, particularly oil shipments funneled through third-party countries, to economically isolate the regime. Finally, they demanded the immediate enactment of a proposed law in Türkiye to prosecute dual citizens who have participated in Israeli war crimes, ensuring accountability for those complicit in the atrocities. This bold agenda underscored their resolve to see tangible action on behalf of the Palestinian cause.
The crowd enthusiastically voiced their support for these demands, pledging to continue boycotting Zionist companies and pressuring their governments to take stronger action against Israel.
'Until Zionism is Defeated, We Will Not Stop'
Concluding his statement, Taş issued a powerful message of defiance, vowing that the struggle for Palestine’s liberation will continue until victory is achieved.
"We will not stop until the Zionist occupation is thrown into the sea and wiped off the map. Until that day, we will remain committed to the struggle for Jerusalem!"
The event ended with prayers for the martyrs of Gaza, as well as renewed pledges from those present to continue the fight against Zionist oppression in all forms.
The massive gathering in Diyarbakır was one of many demonstrations taking place across Türkiye and the Muslim world, as anger over Israel’s atrocities in Gaza continues to grow. (ILKHA)
