Türkiye's economic confidence rises to 90.8 in August
Türkiye’s consumer confidence index rose to 90.8 in August, marking a 1% increase from the previous month, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said Friday.
The index stood at 89.8 in July, according to data released by TurkStat.
The consumer confidence index is calculated based on the results of the Consumer Tendency Survey, conducted jointly by TurkStat and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye.
The August increase indicates a modest improvement in consumer sentiment regarding economic conditions and household financial prospects.
However, the index remained below the 100-point threshold, which generally indicates that consumers are more pessimistic than optimistic about the economic outlook.
The latest figures provide an indication of household perceptions and expectations regarding their financial situation and the broader economic environment as Türkiye continues efforts to stabilize inflation and strengthen macroeconomic conditions. (ILKHA)
