Hakan Fidan assumes role as Türkiye's Foreign Minister, emphasizing national foreign policy vision

Hakan Fidan, the newly appointed Foreign Minister of Turkey, officially assumed his position, taking over from his predecessor Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday.
During the handover ceremony, Fidan expressed his commitment to working diligently for the peace, security, and prosperity of the nation and its people. He pledged to continue advancing Turkey's national foreign policy vision, which is rooted in the sovereignty of the nation's will.
In his remarks, Cavusoglu reflected on his tenure, highlighting the pursuit of an entrepreneurial and humanitarian foreign policy that effectively safeguarded Turkey's interests across the globe. After serving as Foreign Minister for 8 years, 6 months, and 13 days, Cavusoglu symbolically passed on the responsibility by handing over the flag of the Foreign Ministry to his successor, Hakan Fidan.
Before assuming the role of Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan had a distinguished career in intelligence and security services. He joined the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) of Turkey in 2002 and held various key positions within the organization. In 2010, Fidan was appointed as the Undersecretary of MIT, the highest-ranking position within the agency. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in shaping Turkey's intelligence policies and strategies.
Hakan Fidan's appointment as Foreign Minister reflects his expertise and experience in national security and intelligence matters. As the head of Turkey's diplomatic efforts, he is responsible for formulating and implementing the country's foreign policy objectives, representing Turkey on the international stage, and maintaining bilateral and multilateral relations with other nations.
Fidan's tenure as Foreign Minister comes at a crucial time when Turkey faces numerous challenges and opportunities in its regional and global engagements. His background in intelligence and security adds a unique perspective to Turkey's foreign policy approach.
It is worth noting that Hakan Fidan's appointment as Foreign Minister marks a significant transition in his career from the intelligence sector to the realm of diplomacy, highlighting his capabilities and the trust placed in him by the Turkish government. (ILKHA)
