The Prophet Lovers Foundation (Peygamber Sevdalıları Vakfı) has called on Muslims around the world not to lose their sensitivity toward the suffering in Gaza, warning that although the nature of the Israeli assault has changed, the humanitarian crisis and attacks on Palestinians continue unabated.

In an interview with İLKHA, Foundation President Molla Beşir Şimşek said the Israeli occupation regime has continued its aggression against the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire process, describing the current situation as a "silent war" that receives far less international attention than previous large-scale military offensives.

Şimşek said thousands of Palestinians have been killed, hundreds of thousands displaced, and entire families devastated during the prolonged Israeli genocidal campaign against Gaza.

"We all witnessed the massacres and brutality in Gaza. Women and children were slaughtered mercilessly, and people across the Islamic world tried to support their brothers and sisters through prayers, humanitarian aid and public solidarity," he said.

Referring to the ceasefire declared nearly two years ago, Şimşek argued that it has brought little meaningful relief for the Palestinian people.

"Although a ceasefire was announced and guarantor countries undertook certain responsibilities, almost nothing has changed for the people of Gaza. Their suffering continues," he said.

According to Şimşek, while large-scale bombardments may have decreased, Israel has continued its military campaign through a "silent massacre," with civilians continuing to face attacks, displacement and deprivation.

"There may no longer be the same level of open warfare, but an even more dangerous silent war is being waged. This has caused the world's attention to fade while the oppression continues," he said.

Şimşek stressed that attacks on Palestinians have persisted both in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

"The brutality has never stopped. Children, women and elderly people continue to be killed, homes are destroyed, and people are burned inside their houses. At the same time, the occupation in the West Bank has expanded, with homes demolished, farmland destroyed and mosques attacked," he said.

He also criticized countries that acted as guarantors during the ceasefire negotiations, saying they had failed to ensure Israel complied with its commitments.

"The Palestinian people trusted the guarantor countries, but the massacres and violations have continued. The only thing that has diminished is our own sensitivity, our prayers, our support and our determination to keep Gaza on the world's agenda," Şimşek said.

He warned that diminishing public attention serves the interests of Israel by reducing international pressure over its actions.

"They changed the form of the war because they wanted to weaken the global awakening of conscience that had emerged in support of Palestine," he said.

Şimşek expressed concern that Gaza is no longer receiving the same level of public attention despite the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.

"Massacres continue, but they are no longer discussed as before. The demonstrations have become fewer, the slogans have faded, and even our prayers have decreased," he said.

Highlighting the worsening humanitarian conditions, Şimşek said Palestinians in Gaza now require greater support than at any previous stage of the conflict.

"The wounded, the orphans, widows and families who have lost everything need food, clean water, medicine, shelter, financial assistance and our prayers more than ever," he said.

He also accused Israel of obstructing the delivery of meaningful humanitarian assistance, arguing that aid entering Gaza falls far short of meeting the population's urgent needs.

"The supplies people desperately require—medicine, food, bread and clean water—are not reaching Gaza in sufficient quantities. The humanitarian crisis continues while the world is led to believe enough is being done," he said.

Concluding his remarks, Şimşek urged Muslims to continue supporting the Palestinian people through humanitarian aid, prayers and advocacy.

"The greatest loss would be to lose our sensitivity toward Gaza," he said. "We must continue standing with our oppressed brothers and sisters, support them materially and spiritually, oppose the blockade, and keep the Palestinian cause alive in our hearts and on the global agenda." (ILKHA)
