Activists from across the world taking part in the International Palestine Convoy have renewed their calls for solidarity with the Palestinian people, urging the international community not to remain silent as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues.

The convoy, which set out from Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and travelled through several European countries before reaching Türkiye, is continuing its journey with the aim of drawing global attention to the suffering in Gaza, expressing solidarity with Palestinians and delivering a message of support to the international community.

Foreign activists who spoke to İLKHA underlined that they would continue to keep the Palestinian cause on the international agenda and would not abandon their efforts until the Palestinian people achieve freedom and justice.

Sherazad Merzouk, France coordinator of the Palestine Convoy, said the activists had received a warm welcome from communities throughout their journey.

“We started this convoy in France. After Paris, we went to Strasbourg, where we held a demonstration in front of the European Parliament. Then we travelled through Bosnia, Greece and Türkiye,” Merzouk said.

She said the solidarity shown by people in the countries they passed through had encouraged the activists to continue their journey.

“Whether in European countries or Türkiye, all the people who welcomed us received us very warmly. This made us very happy because everyone has given their heart to the Palestinian cause,” she said.

Merzouk added that the convoy intends to continue through Iraq and Jordan before reaching Palestine.

She stressed that the humanitarian suffering in Palestine must not be ignored.

“The genocide is still continuing in Palestine. We must not remain silent in the face of this genocide,” Merzouk warned, emphasizing that the convoy was travelling overland toward Palestine to keep international attention focused on Gaza.

“The world needs to put this back on the agenda because this is a duty of humanity. Our actions will continue in this way. The Palestine Convoy is continuing and nothing can stop it,” she noted.

“We will continuously bring the Palestinian cause to the agenda, defend it, and carry it with our prayers and our voices.”

Yusuf Selahaddin, a French activist who was previously known as Sebastian and embraced Islam while participating in the Palestine Convoy, said his commitment to Palestine would continue until the country is free.

“My name is Yusuf Selahaddin. I was previously Sebastian. I am an activist in the Palestine Convoy. I do a lot of work for Palestine and for humanity,” he said.

“This convoy set out for the freedom of Palestine. My life is also dedicated to the freedom of Palestine. I will be on this path until Palestine is free. I am happy to be part of this convoy,” Selahaddin added.

Speaking about his decision to embrace Islam, Selahaddin said the experience had given him a new sense of belonging.

“I have a new family now, because Islam is a very large family. Becoming a Muslim was a very important step for me on the path of the Palestinian cause,” he said.

“In fact, for years I had been living a Muslim life in my heart and soul. After becoming Muslim, I am happy to be on the path of Allah and to obey Him.”

Selahaddin also appealed to people around the world to keep their attention focused on Palestine and to stand with oppressed communities.

“The only thing I ask of the world is that they open their eyes, keep their attention constantly on Palestine, and be sensitive toward all oppressed people,” he said.

He called for collective efforts to build a more peaceful and just future for Palestinians and for humanity as a whole.

“I call on everyone to work together to make the world and Palestine a better place again. If I see Palestine free again, I want to live there,” Selahaddin said.

“My goal is to see a free Palestine and to make the world a better place for children and for all of humanity.”

Selahaddin concluded by expressing his desire to see Palestinians regain freedom and dignity, saying: “I want to see Palestine free again.”

The International Palestine Convoy is continuing its journey as participants seek to keep the plight of Palestinians in Gaza at the forefront of international attention and amplify calls for an end to the suffering and for freedom and justice for the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
