Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to visit Türkiye
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will pay an official visit to Ankara from August 11 to 13 at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Presidency’s Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran announced on Tuesday.
According to Duran, Abbas’ visit will focus on the latest developments in Palestine, bilateral relations between Türkiye and Palestine, and broader regional developments.
During meetings scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, Erdoğan and Abbas are expected to exchange views on the ongoing situation in Palestine and discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral ties.
The talks are also expected to address developments across the wider region, as Türkiye continues its diplomatic efforts concerning the Palestinian issue and regional stability.
Abbas’ visit comes amid continued international attention on developments in Palestine and is expected to provide an opportunity for Ankara and Ramallah to coordinate their positions on key regional issues.
