The Turkish Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack targeting a police station in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, reaffirming Ankara’s solidarity with Islamabad in the fight against terrorism.

In a press release issued following the attack, the ministry denounced the assault “in the strongest terms,” describing it as a heinous act of terrorism that claimed innocent lives and wounded the security and stability of the region.

“We condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attack carried out against a police station yesterday (9 May) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan,” the ministry stated.

The statement also expressed condolences to the families of the victims and the Pakistani people, while invoking prayers for those killed in the attack.

“We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in this heinous attack and extend our condolences to their families and to the people of Pakistan,” the ministry added.

Reiterating the close ties between Türkiye and Pakistan, Ankara emphasized that it would continue supporting Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism in all its forms.

“Türkiye will continue to stand in solidarity with Pakistan in its fight against all forms and manifestations of terrorism,” the statement said.

The attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa comes amid ongoing security challenges in Pakistan’s border regions, where militants have repeatedly targeted security forces and public institutions. Turkish officials have consistently voiced support for Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts and maintained close diplomatic and strategic cooperation with Islamabad on regional security issues. (ILKHA)
