HÜDA PAR demands transparent investigation into suspicious death of university student

HÜDA PAR has called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the suspicious death of Rojin Kabaiş, a student at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, warning against any negligence or attempts to cover up the case.
The party’s Human Rights and Legal Affairs Directorate issued a statement emphasizing that recent allegations and findings in the public domain have raised serious concerns, and that the case cannot be dismissed as a simple suicide.
“The new allegations and findings clearly show that the incident cannot be closed as a simple ‘suicide case,’” the statement said.
HÜDA PAR noted that despite a year passing since Kabaiş’s death, significant questions about the investigation remain unresolved. Contradictions in crime scene reports and forensic examinations continue to fuel public concern, the party added.
“From the crime scene investigation to the forensic reports, numerous contradictions and unexplained details continue to increase public concern day by day. The newly surfaced information clearly indicates that this cannot be dismissed as a mere suicide,” the statement said.
The party stressed that transparency is both a legal and moral obligation, calling on authorities to evaluate all evidence carefully and share the process openly with the public.
HÜDA PAR also urged judicial and administrative bodies to take the new allegations seriously and identify any officials who may have acted negligently, recklessly, or intentionally.
“Any officials found to have acted with negligence or intent must face the necessary legal consequences without delay. Any attempt to conceal the truth would not only harm the family of Rojin Kabaiş but also inflict irreparable damage on society’s sense of justice,” the party warned.
The call reflects growing public concern over the handling of Kabaiş’s death and underscores the demand for accountability and transparency in sensitive investigations. (ILKHA)
