25 killed, 23 injured in separate road accidents in Nigeria
Twenty-five people were killed and 23 others injured in separate road accidents in Nigeria's Kwara and Ogun states, officials said.
The deadliest accident occurred along the Ilorin-Jebba highway in Kwara State, where a bus collided with a truck.
Kwara Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kabiru Kazeem, said 15 people were killed and 17 others injured in the crash.
He added that several of the injured remained in critical condition, warning that the death toll could rise.
In a separate accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, FRSC spokesperson Odunsi Afolabi said 10 people were killed and six others sustained injuries.
Authorities said the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, while investigations into the causes of both accidents are underway. (ILKHA)
