5.1-magnitude earthquake hits Iran’s Kermanshah province

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Iran’s Kermanshah province early Monday morning, jolting residents awake in the city of Qasr-e Shirin.
According to the Iranian Seismological Center, the quake occurred at 4:32 a.m. local time at a depth of 8 kilometers. The epicenter was pinpointed at 45.44 degrees longitude and 34.53 degrees latitude.
The main tremor was followed by several aftershocks, though details about their magnitude and impact remain unclear.
As of now, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage to infrastructure. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and assess any potential impact in the affected region.
