Afghan Energy Minister: US has provided no aid to Islamic Emirate

The Acting Minister of Energy and Water of Afghanistan, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, has rejected claims that the United States has provided financial assistance to the Islamic Emirate, dismissing them as mere propaganda.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of a marksmanship competition in Zurmat district, Paktia province, on Tuesday, Mansour stressed that not a single dollar had been given to the caretaker government by Washington.
“Our enemies propagate the false narrative that just as dollars arrived during the republican era, the aid continues to pour in. In reality, the funds are directed towards NGOs and international organizations, not the Islamic Emirate,” he said.
Mansour asserted that the US suffered a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan and “would not dare to send us aid again.” He explained that any financial assistance entering the country came solely through international organizations and not directly to the government.
He further claimed that 80 percent of NGO aid was spent on operational costs, salaries, and administrative expenses, leaving only 20 percent for actual development projects, such as irrigation canals and small bridges.
The Islamic Emirate, he noted, had taken measures to ensure that these funds were properly regulated to prevent waste and misuse.
Mansour’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about the flow of humanitarian aid into Afghanistan and the challenges of economic stability under the current administration. (ILKHA)
