Blast kills 3 police, injures 5 in Faizabad, Afghanistan

A bomb attack targeted a counter-narcotics police convoy in Faizabad city, Afghanistan, killing three police personnel and injuring five others, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior Affairs spokesman Abdul Matin Qani.
The blast, believed to be from a sticky bomb placed on a motorbike, struck at 11 a.m. local time.
An investigation is underway, the statement added.
Earlier reports from anonymous local sources claimed a higher casualty rate, but these were not confirmed by the Ministry.
