Deadly Israeli bombings strike homes and refugee camps across Gaza

Israeli airstrikes struck multiple locations across the Gaza Strip on Monday evening, killing at least 17 Palestinians, according to local sources.
The attacks targeted residential areas and displaced persons’ encampments, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian crisis in the war-torn region.
In Gaza City, an Israeli fighter jet bombed a house belonging to the Hamada family on Yaffa Street in the at-Tuffah neighborhood, east of the city. The strike claimed the lives of 10 people, including three children. Local witness Je reported that one victim was dismembered in the attack, with the fatalities transported to the Arab Ahli Hospital for treatment and identification.
Elsewhere, in the central Gaza Strip, an airstrike hit a group of people in the al-Bureij refugee camp, leaving five dead. Further south, near the University College of Applied Sciences west of Khan Yunis, an Israeli bombing targeted tents housing displaced individuals, killing a woman and a child.
The latest wave of violence follows Israel’s unilateral decision to end a ceasefire agreement on March 18, resuming its military campaign across Gaza. Since then, intensified airstrikes have killed 1,001 Palestinians, including over 100 children, and wounded 2,259 others, according to medical sources. Emergency response teams continue to search for survivors trapped under rubble, with many feared dead.
Israel’s broader offensive, ongoing since October 2023, has now claimed 50,357 lives—predominantly women and children—and injured 114,400 others. An estimated 10,000 people remain missing, presumed buried beneath destroyed homes. The aggression has displaced nearly two million residents, with most forced into the overcrowded southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking the largest mass exodus of Palestinians since the 1948 Nakba.
The renewed hostilities come amid a worsening humanitarian situation, as Israel’s siege and restrictions on medical and aid supplies continue to strangle the enclave. International concerns are mounting over the escalating death toll and the plight of civilians caught in the crossfire. (ILKHA)
