Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes across southern Lebanon since dawn on Tuesday, killing at least eight Lebanese civilians and wounding several others in a significant escalation targeting multiple areas.

According to National News Agency, the strikes hit several civilian areas, spreading fear and destruction throughout the south.

A drone strike targeted a civilian vehicle on the Masayleh road in the district of Sidon, killing two people instantly. In a separate attack, three civilians were killed when Israeli warplanes bombed the town of Deir Antar.

Further air raids struck residential areas, with six people wounded in an attack on Ansariyeh. In the town of Arab Salim, two civilians were killed and a woman was injured after a house was directly hit.

In Shabriha, one civilian was killed and three others wounded in another airstrike, highlighting the widening scope of the attacks on Lebanese communities.

The wave of strikes continued through the night. Since midnight, Israeli warplanes have carried out heavy bombardment across several areas in southern Lebanon, while the outskirts of Naqoura and Bayada have been subjected to intermittent artillery shelling.

These attacks, which have largely impacted civilians and residential areas, point to a growing escalation that continues to take a heavy human toll. Local sources report that many of the victims were ordinary civilians caught in their homes, raising serious concerns about the targeting of populated areas.

Despite the ongoing bombardment, communities in southern Lebanon remain resilient in the face of continued attacks, even as calls intensify for an end to the violence and for accountability for the loss of civilian lives. (ILKHA)
