An elderly Palestinian woman has died after suffering a fatal heart attack during a pre-dawn Israeli military raid on her home in the occupied West Bank.

Sabriya Amin Shamasneh, 68, passed away early Tuesday morning after Israeli forces stormed the town of Jayyous, east of Qalqilya. The raid, which began at approximately 2:00 a.m., saw heavily armed soldiers enter residential neighborhoods, targeting multiple homes.

According to medical sources, Shamasneh suffered a sudden and severe heart attack amid the chaos and fear caused by the raid. She was urgently transported to Darwish Nazzal Governmental Hospital, where doctors later pronounced her dead.

Local residents reported that Israeli forces stormed the courtyard of her family home, belonging to her husband Walid Mustafa Shamasneh, and attempted to forcibly enter the house. The loud shouting, aggressive presence of soldiers, and violent nature of the incursion created a scene of terror for those inside.

Family members said the elderly woman was confronted unexpectedly by soldiers at her doorstep, triggering intense fear and shock. Witnesses described how the sudden raid caused panic among residents, particularly the elderly, before Shamasneh collapsed to the ground.

Palestinian sources condemned the incident, stating that such military raids routinely target civilian homes in the occupied West Bank, often in the middle of the night, placing vulnerable populations—especially the elderly, women, and children—at severe risk.

The incident has renewed calls from Palestinian groups and human rights advocates to end night raids and military incursions into residential areas, which they say contribute to psychological trauma, injury, and death even in the absence of direct gunfire.
