EU condemns Turkey’s operations in Syria
The European Union condemned Turkey’s operations in northern Syria, the European Council said in a statement delivered after the first day of the summit in Brussels.
“The EU condemns Turkey's unilateral military action in North East Syria which causes unacceptable human suffering, undermines the fight against Da'esh and threatens heavily European security. The European Council notes tonight's US-Turkey announcement on a pause for all military operations”. The European Council said.
The EU leaders wanted Turkey to stop the military operations against YPG/ PKK members and withdraw the troops from Syria.
Turkey launched “Operation Peace Spring” on Oct. 9 to remove YPG/PKK members from northern Syria in order to establish a safe zone for Syrians return in the area east of the Euphrates River. (ILKHA)
