Gaza death toll rises to 74,377 as Israeli attacks continue despite ceasefire
The death toll from Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip has risen to 74,377 Palestinians, with 175,398 others injured since October 7, 2023, medical sources said on Sunday, as the humanitarian crisis continues to devastate the besieged enclave.
According to health authorities, seven Palestinians were killed over the past 24 hours, including one who succumbed to injuries sustained in earlier attacks. Another 28 people were injured and taken to hospitals across Gaza.
The latest figures underscore the continuing toll on Palestinians despite a ceasefire that took effect on October 11, 2025.
Since the truce began, 1,488 Palestinians have been killed and 5,281 others injured, according to health authorities. A further 836 bodies have been recovered from beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings.
Rescue and recovery efforts remain critical as Palestinian families continue to search for relatives buried under the ruins of homes and other structures devastated by Israeli attacks.
The mounting casualties reflect the scale of human suffering in Gaza, where years of Israeli military operations have left tens of thousands dead and wounded and caused widespread destruction. (ILKHA)
