At least 11 people were killed and several others injured after gunmen opened fire on a passenger vehicle in Nigeria's Plateau State.
According to local reports, the attack took place in the Dungus area of Jos South Local Government Area, where armed individuals targeted a vehicle carrying passengers travelling towards Jos.
Tengong Rwang, Secretary of the Berom District Youth Association, said the attack resulted in the deaths of 11 people, while several others were injured.
He said the injured victims were taken to hospitals for treatment and that the incident was reported to security authorities.
Authorities have not yet released details about the identity of the attackers or the motive behind the assault.
Plateau State, located in central Nigeria, has experienced repeated armed attacks in recent years, with local communities frequently calling for stronger security measures.(ILKHA)
