HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party) Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu called on the government to strengthen values-based education and ease school-related costs for families as the 2026-2027 academic year began on Monday.

In a message marking the start of the school year, Yapıcıoğlu said education should focus on raising virtuous generations by combining academic knowledge with wisdom and morality.

Education is a matter of raising virtuous generations by building the mind with knowledge, the heart with wisdom, and the personality with morality," Yapıcıoğlu said, urging policymakers to align the national curriculum with the country's civilizational heritage.

Addressing broader socio-economic pressures facing households, the HÜDA PAR leader urged authorities to introduce measures mitigating the rising costs of essential school supplies, stationery, and student transportation services.

Strengthening equal opportunity in education, Yapıcıoğlu noted, requires direct intervention to relieve families of escalating logistical and operational costs at the start of the school term.

"In addition to an educational approach that upholds our civilizational values, strengthening equality of opportunity by alleviating families' economic burdens must be an integral part of this process," he added.

Yapıcıoğlu concluded his message by wishing students clarity of mind and expressing support for teachers and parents navigating the new school term. (ILKHA)
