Iran declares UK Navy and Air Force terrorist organisations
Iran has designated British intelligence a hostile entity and declared the British Navy and Air Force terrorist organisations in response to London's increasingly hostile actions and direct involvement in military aggression against the Islamic Republic.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Iran's Foreign Ministry said the measures were taken in response to "hostile actions carried out by the British government against Iran over the past year," including Britain's involvement in the US-led war against Iran and its decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation in July, following a similar move by the European Union.
The ministry stressed that the reciprocal measures were adopted in accordance with international law and warned that the British government would bear responsibility for the consequences of its actions.
It further announced that, effective immediately, the British Navy and Air Force would be subject to Iran's reciprocal legal measures.
Iran's decision comes amid escalating tensions between Tehran and London over Britain's growing military cooperation with Washington in its confrontation with the Islamic Republic.
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham authorised the United States to use British military bases for operations against Iran, a move that has drawn strong warnings from Iranian military officials.
IRGC Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi previously cautioned Britain and other countries assisting the United States that their military facilities and forces could become legitimate targets if they continued supporting military operations against Iran.
Mohebbi specifically pointed to the use of British airfields by US B-1 strategic bombers, warning that continued cooperation with Washington would make Britain a "definite and legitimate" target for Iran's Armed Forces.
He stressed that Tehran had prepared specific scenarios to respond to different forms of hostile action, underscoring Iran's determination to defend its sovereignty and national security.
Tensions further intensified after Burnham claimed earlier in October that Iran's IRGC had "almost certainly directed" a suspicious incident near RAF Fairford, a British military airbase used by US forces during their war against Iran.
The incident occurred on September 27, when a local farmer reported suspicious activity involving several men and white vans near the facility in southwest England. The report triggered a major counterterrorism investigation and the evacuation of a nearby village.
Although seven suspects were arrested during the investigation, all were subsequently released on bail. British authorities have yet to publicly establish the full nature of the alleged threat.
The United States later withdrew its B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford.
Iran has firmly rejected Britain's accusations. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed the allegations in communications with British officials, telling them they were "barking up the wrong tree."
Tehran's latest decision signals that it will not remain passive in the face of what it considers hostile military and political actions by Western governments. It also reflects Iran's determination to apply reciprocal measures against countries that facilitate attacks on its territory or threaten its national security. (ILKHA)

Iran's Armed Forces will not wait for an enemy attack to begin before determining the timing and scope of their response, the country's chief of staff has warned, reaffirming Tehran's readiness to confront any renewed US-Israeli aggression with a stronger and more far-reaching military response.
Demonstrations over the rising cost of living, housing affordability, public services and political grievances swept cities across Europe on Saturday, October 31, as authorities deployed thousands of police officers to manage largely peaceful rallies and prevent a recurrence of recent unrest.
Israeli occupation forces continued their military assault and suffocating siege on the southern occupied West Bank city of al-Khalil for the ninth consecutive day on Saturday, carrying out home raids, mass arrests and attacks on Palestinian residents while deploying additional military reinforcements and preventing hundreds of displaced families from returning to their homes.
