Iran: Israeli regime must be held accountable for violating international law

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s latest wave of air and ground attacks on Syria, which targeted civilian, scientific-research, and defense infrastructure across multiple provinces, including Damascus, Hama, Homs, and Daraa.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei denounced the Zionist regime’s repeated violations of Syria’s sovereignty, emphasizing that these aggressions have deliberately targeted both military and civilian assets. He further highlighted Israel’s continued occupation of strategic Syrian territories since the fall of the previous government and blamed various international actors for enabling Tel Aviv’s aggression.
Baghaei recalled that Iran had warned regional nations months ago about Israel’s opportunistic use of Syria’s instability to expand its occupation and provoke further tensions in the region. He stressed that Tehran remains committed to defending Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, standing in solidarity with its long-standing ally in the West Asian region.
Reiterating Iran’s firm opposition to Israeli incursions, the spokesman called on the international community, particularly regional countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to take immediate and decisive action against Israel’s blatant violations of international law. He urged global powers to hold the Zionist regime accountable for its crimes and to pressure Tel Aviv into halting its hostilities.
The latest Israeli aggression comes amid escalating tensions in the region, with Iran and its allies warning of dire consequences should Israel continue its destabilizing actions. (ILKHA)
