Iranian authorities have announced that flights to Türkiye and several other international destinations are continuing, while services to Georgia, Iraq, Oman and the United Arab Emirates remain suspended.
Speaking to Tasnim News Agency, Ramin Kashifazar, CEO of the company operating Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport, outlined the latest status of international flights.
Kashifazar said flights to Iraq's holy city of Najaf remain suspended and that no decision has yet been made on when they will resume.
"Under the current conditions, it is not possible to operate flights to Najaf, and no new decision has been taken regarding the resumption of these services," he said.
He added that despite consultations concerning Iraqi passengers and arrangements for the return of Iraqi citizens, flights to Najaf remain suspended because of the current situation.
Flights to Türkiye continue
Kashifazar said Iran continues to operate flights to several destinations, including Türkiye and China.
However, he confirmed that flights to Georgia, Iraq, Oman and the United Arab Emirates remain suspended until further notice.
Iranian aviation authorities have not announced a timetable for lifting the restrictions, saying decisions will depend on future developments and assessments of flight safety.(ILKHA)
