Iranian forces strike US military base in Kuwait, destroying drone facilities
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Thursday that it had carried out a new round of retaliatory strikes against US forces in the region, destroying two drone hangars and a fuel storage facility at the US-operated Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
In a statement, the IRGC said the operation was conducted as part of what it described as the ongoing "punishment of the aggressor," reaffirming that Iran's response to what it views as US military aggression will continue.
The IRGC stated that its Aerospace Force and Ground Force remain actively engaged in military operations targeting US forces across the region, emphasizing that the campaign is continuing alongside nationwide public demonstrations in Iran.
According to the statement, mass public gatherings have now continued for 150 consecutive nights, with participants calling for "revenge for the blood of the martyred Imam" and demanding the withdrawal of American forces from West Asia.
The IRGC said the demonstrations reflect widespread public support for Iran's military response and its broader objective of ending the US military presence in the region.
Addressing the people of Kuwait, the statement stressed that Iran's operations are directed at US military forces rather than regional nations. It added that military operations would continue until what it described as the end of the "plundering of Muslims' wealth and national resources" and the removal of "American occupiers and looters" from the region.
The statement reiterated Iran's longstanding position that the continued deployment of US forces in West Asia is the primary source of regional instability and asserted that resistance against the American military presence would persist until foreign troops leave the region. (ILKHA)
