At least nine people were killed and 48 others injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian authorities said on Thursday.

Search-and-rescue efforts entered a second consecutive day in the city of Lviv and the village of Radushne in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast after Russia launched a large-scale overnight assault on July 30.

The previous night's attack targeted several regions, including Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy oblasts, leaving at least eight people dead and more than 50 injured, according to Ukrainian officials.

Hours later, Russian forces launched another large-scale aerial assault, deploying 255 Shahed-type attack drones, Ukraine's Air Force said.

The military said Ukrainian air defense systems intercepted 195 drones over the country's northern, southern and eastern regions. However, 22 drones struck targets at 14 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at four additional sites.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Russian shelling and drone attacks killed three people and wounded seven others in the Nikopol district, Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said. The governor added that earlier strikes on the city of Pavlohrad killed two civilians and injured five others, while attacks on the Synelnykove, Hrushivka, Hleiuvatka and Kryvyi Rih communities left another person injured.

In the southern Kherson region, Russian attacks targeted 49 settlements, including the regional capital, killing four people and injuring five others, according to the regional military administration.

In Sumy Oblast, authorities reported that Russian strikes wounded seven men aged between 23 and 63 in the Krolevets community. A separate drone attack injured two women, aged 47 and 58, in the Romny community.

Kharkiv Oblast also came under attack, with regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov reporting injuries to four people in the village of Vilshany, a 72-year-old woman in the city of Kharkiv and a 43-year-old man in the village of Zolochiv.

In southeastern Zaporizhzhia Oblast, six people were injured in Russian strikes, regional authorities said.

Meanwhile, in Donetsk Oblast, one person was wounded in Sloviansk, while three others were injured in Kramatorsk and another civilian was hurt in Druzhkivka, Governor Vadym Filashkin reported.

In the northern Chernihiv region, Governor Viacheslav Chaus said Russian forces attacked the Semenivka community using Gerbera drones, injuring four people.

The latest wave of attacks comes as fighting continues across multiple fronts in eastern and southern Ukraine, with both sides intensifying long-range drone and missile operations amid the prolonged conflict. (ILKHA)
