Israel’s genocide in Gaza continues: 19 Palestinian civilians martyred in 24 hours

The Israeli occupation’s relentless military aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip has claimed the lives of at least 19 more Palestinians in the past 24 hours, with another 81 people injured, Palestinian medical sources reported Sunday.
The victims, most of whom are women and children, were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes and artillery attacks targeting densely populated civilian areas across Gaza. Local hospitals, already overwhelmed and critically undersupplied, continue to struggle as the humanitarian catastrophe deepens.
According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the Palestinian death toll from the genocidal Israeli campaign, which began in October 2023, has now soared to 52,829. More than 119,554 others have been injured, many of them with life-altering disabilities and amputations.
Since March 18—when Israel resumed its assault after a temporary truce—the number of Palestinians killed has climbed to 2,720, with at least 7,513 wounded in the continued bombardment. The escalation has once again targeted residential homes, shelters, and aid distribution centers, exacerbating the suffering of Gaza’s already displaced and traumatized population.
Emergency response teams report being unable to access many casualties trapped under the rubble due to Israel’s continued targeting of ambulances and civil defense crews—an act rights groups say constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law.
Despite repeated international appeals—including a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire and interim orders from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) mandating urgent steps to prevent genocide—Israel's military onslaught has intensified.
Legal experts and human rights organizations worldwide are increasingly describing Israel’s campaign in Gaza as a textbook case of genocide, pointing to the deliberate targeting of civilians, the use of starvation as a weapon of war, and the destruction of all infrastructure necessary for survival.
Calls are mounting across the Muslim world and from civil society movements globally for stronger international action, sanctions, and accountability. As Gaza’s death toll rises daily, many warn that the international community's failure to act is enabling one of the 21st century’s most horrific atrocities. (ILKHA)
