Three Palestinian police officers were killed and several others injured on Thursday after Israeli occupation forces launched an airstrike targeting a security site west of Gaza City.

Local sources reported that an Israeli Apache helicopter fired at least one missile at a room used by Gaza’s security services in the Ansar area, following intense low-altitude military flights and heavy surveillance drone activity over the city.

The wounded and the bodies of the victims were transported to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, while one critically injured person was transferred to a Palestinian Red Crescent field hospital in central Gaza City.

The Interior Ministry in Gaza later confirmed that three members of the Palestinian security services were killed in the Israeli strike on a guard post affiliated with a security headquarters west of the city. A fourth officer was critically wounded, alongside several civilians injured in the attack.

The strike has fueled growing anger across Gaza as residents accuse Israel of systematically undermining the ceasefire while continuing deadly attacks against Palestinians.

Hamas strongly condemned the Israeli attack, describing it as “a repetition of scenes of genocide and daily killings against the Palestinian people” and a clear violation of commitments under the ceasefire agreement.

The movement called on international mediators and regional actors to pressure the Israeli government to halt its aggression and fully implement the ceasefire terms, particularly ending attacks on civilians and public institutions in Gaza.

Palestinian officials warn that Israel’s continued military operations threaten to collapse the fragile truce and drag the region back into full-scale war.

In its latest statistical report, Gaza’s Health Ministry announced that nine bodies arrived at hospitals across the Strip within the previous 24 hours, including six newly killed Palestinians and three victims who later succumbed to their wounds. The ministry also recorded 39 injuries resulting from Israeli attacks during the same period.

According to the ministry, since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10, 2025, at least 846 Palestinians have been killed and 2,418 injured due to ongoing Israeli attacks and violations. Rescue teams have additionally recovered 769 bodies from beneath the rubble of homes and buildings destroyed during the war.

The ministry stated that the overall toll from Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has now risen to 72,628 Palestinians killed and 172,520 injured, the vast majority believed to be civilians, including women and children.

In a separate development, Palestinian sources announced the death of Azzam al-Hayya, the son of senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, after he succumbed to injuries sustained in an Israeli strike carried out Wednesday evening.

That attack reportedly killed another Palestinian and wounded at least ten others.

The latest escalation comes amid increasing rhetoric from Israeli political and military circles regarding a possible resumption of the war on Gaza. Israeli officials have continued to pressure Palestinian resistance groups over issues related to disarmament and governance in the territory.

Palestinian factions, however, insist that the resistance will not surrender under military pressure and accuse Israel of using ceasefire negotiations as cover to continue attacks, collective punishment, and the blockade imposed on Gaza’s population. (ILKHA)
