Israeli forces continue devastating assault on Jenin for 295th consecutive day
Israeli occupation forces have continued their relentless military assault on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp for the 295th consecutive day, carrying out violent house raids, demolitions, and mass detentions that have left the city in ruins and its residents traumatized.
According to local sources, occupation troops stormed Jenin early Tuesday morning, blocking traffic along Nablus Street, setting up checkpoints, and interrogating drivers while inspecting identification cards. Simultaneous raids were also reported in the nearby town of Yamun, where soldiers broke into and searched several homes.
The ongoing campaign has caused massive destruction and human suffering. Local authorities report that more than 22,000 Palestinians have been displaced, over 600 homes completely demolished, and nearly one-third of the Jenin refugee camp reduced to rubble as Israeli forces continue to use heavy weaponry and armored bulldozers in densely populated civilian areas.
Since the beginning of the offensive nearly ten months ago, at least 56 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 200 others injured, many of them children and women.
Residents describe the situation as one of unending terror, with the sound of gunfire, explosions, and military vehicles echoing through the camp daily. “We no longer sleep through the night,” said one resident. “Every day, we wake up to new destruction.”
Observers note that the continuous operations form part of a broader Israeli strategy to dismantle Palestinian resistance and impose total control over Jenin, a stronghold of defiance against occupation policies in the northern West Bank.
Human rights organizations have condemned the assault, calling it a form of collective punishment and a blatant violation of international law. Despite growing global outrage, Israel continues to carry out its campaign with impunity, further deepening the humanitarian catastrophe in Jenin.
The latest escalation underscores the systematic targeting of Palestinian civilians and infrastructure under the ongoing occupation, leaving Jenin’s population in a state of despair and uncertainty as the siege nears its 300th day. (ILKHA)
