Israeli forces kill 8 Palestinians in Gaza as ceasefire violations continue
Israeli occupation forces killed eight Palestinians, including two women and a child, in attacks across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, as airstrikes, artillery shelling, shootings and demolition operations continued despite the ceasefire agreement.
The attacks, reported on the 364th consecutive day of ceasefire violations, also wounded several Palestinians and caused further destruction to homes and displacement shelters, while restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid and travelers continued to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.
Local sources reported that a child, Hussam Ahmed Housou, and a woman, Intisar Abu Asr, were killed and six other Palestinians wounded late Thursday when Israeli forces bombed a home belonging to the al-Sawafiri family near Abdullah Azzam Mosque in the Sabra neighborhood of southern Gaza City.
In another incident, a Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli-backed militias southeast of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
A Palestinian man also succumbed to injuries sustained earlier Thursday when Israeli aircraft bombed a tent sheltering displaced families at the Egyptian displacement camp near al-Tawam Roundabout, northwest of Gaza City.
Two more Palestinians were killed and several others injured when an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle near the Jordanian field hospital on al-Sinaa Street in southwestern Gaza City.
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Ahlam Shaaban Mubarak was killed by Israeli artillery shelling near al-Khazandar Station, northwest of Gaza City. A young Palestinian from the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza also died from wounds sustained in an Israeli attack a week earlier.
Israeli Attacks Target Homes and Displacement Shelters
Gaza's Civil Defense said its crews responded on Thursday evening to Israeli strikes targeting two homes in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.
The first strike hit a house in the al-Katiba neighborhood in central Khan Yunis, injuring two elderly Palestinians who were transferred to hospital for treatment. The second targeted a house near the al-Najjar family gathering hall, close to the Rafah transportation terminal.
Earlier, an Israeli drone struck a tent sheltering displaced families in the Egyptian displacement camp in the al-Tawam area, northwest of Gaza City, injuring several Palestinians, one of them critically.
Israeli forces also shot a young Palestinian man in the foot in the Dutch neighborhood west of Khan Yunis.
In another attack, Israeli artillery struck a home belonging to the Zaarab family in the al-Mawasi area of Rafah, wounding seven Palestinians. Several others were injured in a separate Israeli drone strike near Street 5, north of Khan Yunis.
The attacks further endangered Palestinians who had already been forced from their homes by Israel's military offensive and were seeking refuge in makeshift shelters.
Heavy Shelling and Demolition Operations Continue
Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire east of Jabalia refugee camp, targeting areas near displacement shelters, including al-Wusta School and Joint School B, as well as residential buildings and tents housing displaced Palestinians, according to local sources.
Israeli artillery also shelled eastern Gaza City, including the Tuffah neighborhood.
In southern Gaza, Israeli military vehicles opened fire east of Hamad City, north of Khan Yunis, and in eastern and southern parts of the city. Israeli tanks also fired heavily toward areas south of Khan Yunis.
Israeli forces carried out two additional demolition operations east of Khan Yunis, adding to the destruction of buildings and infrastructure across the besieged territory.
The continued attacks have deepened the suffering of Gaza's civilian population, with displaced families facing renewed danger even in areas where they have sought shelter.
Gaza Death Toll Surpasses 74,000
According to figures released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 1,471 Palestinians have been killed and 5,189 injured since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025. The ministry also reported that 836 bodies had been recovered during the same period.
Since Israel launched its military offensive on October 7, 2023, the reported death toll in Gaza has risen to 74,254, while 175,306 Palestinians have been injured.
The figures highlight the devastating human cost of Israel's ongoing military operations, as Palestinians continue to endure killings, forced displacement, widespread destruction and restrictions on essential supplies despite the ceasefire agreement.
The latest attacks have once again raised serious concerns over the continued failure to protect Palestinian civilians and ensure that the ceasefire brings meaningful relief to Gaza's besieged population. (ILKHA)
