Israeli forces kill Palestinian man in brutal assault near occupied Jerusalem

A Palestinian man was killed on Wednesday after being violently assaulted by Israeli occupation forces in the town of al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem, in yet another act of brutality against civilians under occupation.
According to local sources, the victim — a 57-year-old man from the Jenin Governorate — was attacked and beaten on the head by Israeli soldiers during a raid in al-Ram. The assault led to his death on the spot, adding to the growing toll of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces across the occupied West Bank in recent weeks.
Eyewitnesses described the assault as deliberate and unprovoked, saying the soldiers continued beating the man even after he had fallen to the ground. Residents of al-Ram reported that Israeli forces stormed the area, blocking ambulances and restricting movement in the town following the attack.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society confirmed that its crews later received the man’s body at the Qalandia checkpoint, after being denied immediate access to the scene. The body was then transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah for examination.
Human rights observers condemned the killing as another example of the Israeli occupation’s systematic violence and disregard for Palestinian life, noting that unarmed civilians continue to be subjected to deadly assaults, arbitrary detentions, and daily harassment across the West Bank.
In Jenin, where the slain man was from, news of his death sparked widespread mourning and anger, with residents vowing that Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people will not go unremembered.
This latest killing comes amid intensified Israeli military raids and settler attacks throughout the occupied territories, as the occupation continues to escalate its campaign of repression under the cover of “security operations.”
Palestinian officials have repeatedly called on the international community to intervene and hold Israel accountable for its ongoing crimes, warning that silence in the face of such brutality only emboldens the occupation to commit more atrocities. (ILKHA)
