Two Palestinians were martyred Wednesday evening after Israeli occupation forces opened fire during clashes with Palestinian youths in the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, amid a tightening Israeli siege on the community.

The killings came as Israeli forces continued to impose restrictions on movement around the village, while armed Israeli settlers reportedly carried out attacks against Palestinian residents and homes under the protection of occupation forces.

Earlier in the day, at least three Palestinians were injured when Israeli settlers attacked al-Mughayyir, assaulting homes and surrounding several houses in the western part of the village. The Palestinian Information Center reported that settlers encircled a number of Palestinian homes while Israeli occupation forces provided protection.

The attacks have heightened fears among residents, who have repeatedly faced settler violence, military raids and restrictions on their daily lives.

Israeli raids and clashes spread across the West Bank

The escalation was not confined to al-Mughayyir.

Clashes also broke out between Palestinian youths and Israeli occupation forces during a raid on al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron (al-Khalil). Israeli forces reportedly fired live ammunition during the confrontations.

Israeli occupation forces also raided the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya, while troops stormed Jabal Karam al-Nimr in Beita, south of Nablus.

The latest violence comes against the backdrop of an intensifying campaign of Israeli military raids, arrests, home demolitions and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank and occupied Jerusalem (al-Quds).

Palestinians and rights organizations have repeatedly warned that the growing coordination between Israeli military forces and armed settlers is placing Palestinian communities under increasing pressure and threatening their homes, land and livelihoods.

Homes demolished near Birzeit

The latest bloodshed follows further demolitions in the Ramallah area.

Two days earlier, Israeli occupation forces demolished two residential buildings in the Ain al-Saqi area of Birzeit, north of Ramallah, leaving Palestinian families facing the loss of their homes.

Israeli settlers also reportedly attacked journalists who were covering the demolitions, attempting to obstruct their work and prevent documentation of the destruction.

For Palestinians, such incidents form part of a broader campaign of dispossession and intimidation across the occupied West Bank, where military raids, settler assaults, land seizures and demolitions have continued to intensify.

The deaths in al-Mughayyir further underscore the mounting human cost of the Israeli occupation, as Palestinian communities across the West Bank continue to face escalating violence and restrictions with little respite. (ILKHA)
