israeli occupation forces torture Palestinian toddler in Gaza, child returned with severe abuse marks
Zionist occupation forces have reportedly subjected a Palestinian toddler to brutal and systematic torture after detaining him in the central Gaza Strip, according to family testimony and medical reports.
The incident took place on the morning of the second day of Eid al-Fitr in the Maghazi Refugee Camp, where two-year-old Jawad Abu Nassar was seized by occupation forces and held for several hours before being returned to his family with visible signs of severe abuse.
According to the family, 65-year-old grandfather Muhammad Abu Nassar received information that his son Osama had taken the child and was heading toward the eastern part of the camp. The area, known among residents as the “yellow line,” is described as an open zone where approaching civilians are frequently targeted by Zionist forces.
Witnesses reported that Osama was carrying his son on his shoulder when gunfire erupted. Shortly afterward, a low-flying drone issued warnings ordering them to stop. Osama was then shot in the shoulder and forced by the soldiers to remove his clothes. He was separated from his child and made to walk toward the occupation forces, after which both disappeared for several hours.
Following a prolonged period of uncertainty, Zionist forces contacted the family through the International Committee of the Red Cross and handed over the child. The father was reported to have been wounded, while his fate remains unknown.
Family members said that when the child was received by his grandfather, bloodstains were visible on his body. Upon being brought home, the toddler began crying intensely and showed signs of severe pain.
Doctors who examined the child stated that the injuries were not caused by bullets or shrapnel, but were the result of direct and deliberate torture. Medical findings revealed burn marks on the child’s feet, deep wounds, and puncture holes believed to have been inflicted with sharp objects.
According to the child’s mother, Zionist forces carried out systematic torture on the toddler. She reported that cigarettes had been extinguished on his body, that he had been cut with sharp tools, and that a nail had been driven into his leg. These findings, she said, were confirmed by medical reports.
The family believes the child was tortured as a means of exerting psychological pressure on his father, who is thought to be in an unstable psychological condition.
Since the incident, the toddler’s health has reportedly deteriorated. He continues to cry constantly, is unable to sleep, and suffers from fever and vomiting.
The incident highlights the deepening humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, where attacks against civilians continue and such cases are reportedly increasing.
While the family struggles to secure urgent medical treatment for the child, they are also anxiously awaiting any news regarding the fate of Osama Abu Nassar. (ILKHA)
