Netanyahu sets four conditions for Iran deal ahead of renewed US-Iran talks
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has outlined four key conditions for any future agreement between the United States and Iran, insisting that Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure must be completely dismantled rather than merely limited.
Speaking at a conference of American Jewish organizations in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said he had conveyed to US President Donald Trump that any deal with Iran must go beyond halting uranium enrichment and include the full removal of Tehran’s nuclear capabilities.
According to his remarks, a potential agreement must ensure that all enriched uranium is removed from Iran, enrichment facilities and related equipment are entirely dismantled, the ballistic missile program is addressed, and what he described as “real and intrusive” inspections are implemented to verify compliance.
The statements come as Washington and Tehran prepare for a second round of indirect negotiations in Geneva, Switzerland. US officials have signaled willingness to reach a diplomatic settlement, while Iranian authorities have indicated they could accept limitations on their nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. Tehran has also warned that any military action would be met with a firm response.
International media outlets have reported Netanyahu’s insistence that dismantlement — not temporary suspension — should form the basis of any new arrangement, reflecting Israel’s longstanding position that Iran must not retain nuclear threshold capability.
In a separate development, Netanyahu addressed the issue of US military assistance to Israel. He stated that Israel plans to gradually phase out the annual $3.8 billion in American military aid, potentially reducing it to zero over the remaining three years of the current memorandum of understanding and the subsequent seven years.
Describing the move as a transition “from aid to partnership,” Netanyahu suggested the shift would reflect Israel’s evolving strategic posture. Analysts note that the timing of the remarks — amid ongoing tensions in Gaza and heightened regional instability — may signal both a negotiating stance toward Iran and a broader recalibration of Israel’s long-term security framework.
No immediate official reaction was issued by Iranian authorities regarding Netanyahu’s latest conditions at the time of reporting. (ILKHA)
