Palestinian man killed by Israeli police near Ramallah
A Palestinian young man was killed on Sunday morning after Israeli occupation police opened fire on his vehicle near the Ein al-Haramiya area, north of Ramallah, according to Palestinian media reports.
Sources said Israeli police officers pursued and intercepted the man’s car on a road in northern Ramallah before opening fire. Following the shooting, Israeli forces reportedly withheld the victim’s body.
The man was later identified as Ammar Hijazi, a 34-year-old resident of Nablus City.
Israeli police claimed the shooting occurred after the driver was allegedly speeding and refused to stop when ordered to do so. Palestinian sources, however, questioned the use of lethal force and said the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
The killing adds to ongoing tensions in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces have intensified operations, resulting in frequent deadly incidents involving Palestinian civilians. (ILKHA)
