Palestinian man killed in Israeli military raid in West Bank
A Palestinian man was killed early Thursday after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed his home in the town of Sarta, west of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
Residents and eyewitness accounts reported that Israeli forces raided the home of 32-year-old Mustafa Khatib at dawn, opening fire inside the house and killing him instantly.
Footage circulated on social media showed Khatib’s body inside his home following the raid, sparking anger and grief among residents in the area.
The killing is the latest in a series of deadly military operations carried out across the northern West Bank, where Israeli forces have intensified raids, arrests, and confrontations in recent weeks.
The incident came just one day after another Palestinian was killed during a separate Israeli military operation in the town of al-Yamun, west of Jenin.
According to local reports, Israeli forces surrounded and stormed a house during the raid, killing 29-year-old Mohamed Zayed and subsequently taking his body.
The circumstances of both killings have drawn condemnation from Palestinian residents and local activists, who say such raids have become increasingly frequent and often result in civilian deaths and property destruction.
The two killings highlight a continued escalation of Israeli military operations across the occupied West Bank, particularly in areas surrounding Jenin and Salfit.
Palestinian communities have reported nightly raids, arrests, and armed incursions, which they say have severely impacted daily life and heightened fears of further violence.
Local sources argue that the use of lethal force inside residential homes reflects a broader pattern of aggressive military tactics that have intensified since the beginning of the current escalation cycle.
Palestinian officials and community leaders have repeatedly called for international intervention and accountability over the ongoing military actions, urging human rights organizations to document what they describe as systematic violations against civilians.
As tensions continue to rise, residents across the West Bank remain on high alert, anticipating further raids in the coming days. (ILKHA)
