Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that Russian forces had taken control of the Krasny Yar and Potikhonovo settlements in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, while also claiming that 1,380 Ukrainian soldiers were killed or neutralized over the past 24 hours.

In its daily statement on the war in Ukraine, the ministry provided an update on Russian military operations in the Kharkiv region.

According to the statement, units of Russia’s Northern Military Group continued efforts to expand their areas of control by narrowing the encirclement zone in the region and had taken control of Krasny Yar and Potikhonovo.

The ministry said four attempts by Ukrainian forces to break through the encirclement were prevented, adding that clashes continued around Petropavlivka, Lozova and Prykolotne.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that Ukrainian forces suffered 1,380 casualties in the past day and that 16 armored vehicles, including tanks, were destroyed.

The statement also said Russian air, missile and drone strikes targeted 143 locations, including logistics centers, fuel depots and energy facilities used by the Ukrainian military.

The ministry further claimed that Russian air defense systems destroyed three guided aerial bombs and 868 fixed-wing drones, while three Ukrainian unmanned naval vehicles were destroyed in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.
