The agreement was signed following talks between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Under the agreement, holders of diplomatic and special passports from the two countries will be exempt from short-term visa requirements, with the measure intended to facilitate official travel and strengthen coordination between Riyadh and Islamabad.
During their meeting, Faisal and Dar also discussed bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international developments.
The two officials reviewed efforts to reduce regional tensions and discussed diplomatic approaches to ongoing challenges, according to the statement on the meeting.
The visa agreement comes as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan continue to expand their longstanding bilateral relationship across diplomatic, economic and security areas.
The two countries signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement in September 2025, further formalizing their security cooperation. In August 2026, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye also joined a broader Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, according to the information provided.
The latest agreement is expected to facilitate official travel between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and support closer engagement between government institutions of the two countries. (ILKHA)
