Several injured as bomb attack targets security forces in Damascus countryside
Several personnel from Syria’s Internal Security Forces were injured on Saturday when an explosive device detonated on a bus carrying them along the Marouneh–Al-Tal road in the Damascus countryside, according to a security source cited by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The source said the relevant authorities had launched an investigation into the incident to identify those responsible for the attack.
The blast comes amid ongoing security investigations into a separate explosion earlier this month in the Damascus countryside.
On Aug. 6, an explosive device detonated on a passenger bus in the city of Jaramana, also in the Damascus countryside, injuring 14 people.
The Interior Ministry has continued its investigation into the Jaramana attack in an effort to determine those behind the incident and establish the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
Authorities have not yet provided further details on Saturday’s attack, including the number or severity of the injuries. (ILKHA)
