The foreign ministers of Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have strongly condemned Israel’s rejection of the Road Map for ending the war in Gaza, warning that Israel’s stance is obstructing international efforts to halt the bloodshed and secure a just and lasting peace for the Palestinian people.

In a joint statement issued on Sunday, the eight countries also denounced Israel’s rejection of Palestinian statehood, describing the position as a direct repudiation of US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict and a serious threat to efforts aimed at ending Israel’s devastating war on the Gaza Strip.

The ministers said Israel’s rejection of the proposed Road Map and Palestinian statehood undermines collective diplomatic efforts and makes clear that Israel is obstructing initiatives intended to end the conflict and establish a durable political settlement.

The ministers said the Road Map represents the outcome of extensive mediation efforts involving Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, the United States, the High Representative of Gaza and the Board of Peace.

They said the framework, which has been accepted by Palestinian factions, provides a pathway toward ending the war and addressing the catastrophic humanitarian and security conditions created by the conflict.

The proposed measures include the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, decommissioning of weapons, deployment of an International Stabilization Force, transfer of administrative authority to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and reconstruction of the devastated territory.

The eight countries warned that Israel’s rejection of the Road Map threatens to derail these efforts and prolong the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.

The foreign ministers stressed the need for sustained and active US engagement to ensure Israel complies with the commitments outlined in the Comprehensive Plan and its Road Map.

They called on Washington to prevent further Israeli obstruction, delays or non-compliance and said Israel should bear responsibility for the consequences of any continued rejection of the framework.

The ministers warned that further obstruction could worsen conditions on the ground and undermine efforts to bring the war in Gaza to an end.

The eight countries firmly rejected what they described as any attempt to deny or prevent Palestinian statehood, emphasizing that Palestinians have an internationally recognized right to self-determination.

They stressed that lasting peace cannot be achieved while the Palestinian people are denied their political rights and sovereignty.

The ministers reaffirmed their support for the two-state solution, calling for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

They warned that efforts to permanently foreclose Palestinian statehood would further undermine peace, security and stability across the Middle East.

The foreign ministers called for the immediate and full implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, citing Gaza’s grave humanitarian crisis and the urgent need for an end to the conflict, security for civilians, reconstruction and recovery.

They also reaffirmed the importance of the Board of Peace and called on all parties to support the implementation of the Road Map and advance the second phase of the Comprehensive Plan.

The ministers urged the Board of Peace, with active US backing, to take immediate and concrete steps to protect the framework from obstruction and ensure that efforts to end the war and rebuild Gaza are not derailed.

The statement reflects growing regional pressure for an end to the devastation in Gaza and for a political process that recognizes Palestinian self-determination, sovereignty and statehood as essential components of any genuine and lasting peace. (ILKHA)
