ZOF arrests Sheikh Arami in Ramallah village

The zionist occupation forces ((ZOF) arrested on Thursday night Saeed Arami, an elderly Palestinian, from his home in Deir Jarir, northeast of Ramallah.
Local sources reported that ZOF raided Arami’s house, nicknamed Sheikh of the Mountain, and tampered with its contents before taking him to an unknown detention center.
Several videos were published recently showing Arami confronting the ZOF soldiers to defend his land and standing in front of the settlers to prevent their attempts to seize it.
Arami had spoken in press interviews a few days ago about his defiance of ZOF and settlers in defense of his land, saying, “I went to the place of confrontations with the youths in defense of my family’s land and the lands of the two villages of Deir Jarir.”
ZOF and settlers established a new settlement outpost on these lands and confiscated nearly 18 thousand dunums of the village lands in the past. “We had no land left in light of the continuous confiscations, so my decision was to be with the young men in the confrontations”, he added.
He pointed out that he worked as a driver in the Ministry of Education and he has six sons and three daughters. In the 1987 uprising (intifada) he was a young man and participated in its activities.
“Resistance to the occupation is not limited to a specific generation. Everyone is required to defend his/her land, Palestine should be defended by everyone”, Arami stressed.
Furthermore, ZOF arrested at dawn Friday a Palestinian citizen of the al-Khalil province, in the southern West Bank.
Eyewitness stated that ZOF stormed Halhoul town, north of al-Khalil, and arrested Tariq Subhi Omran, 32, after searching his house and tampering with its contents.
On Thursday night, ZOF closed the iron gate at the entrance to the town of Beit Ummar, north of al-Khalil, and prevented the movement of citizens to and out of the town. (ILKHA)
