Türkiye’s agricultural producer prices rose 18.81% year-on-year in July and 2.31% from the previous month, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).

The Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products (Agriculture-PPI) increased 10.22% compared with December last year and 35.12% on a 12-month average basis.

Agriculture and forestry prices

Prices of agricultural and hunting products and related services increased 2.52% in July from the previous month.

Prices for forestry products and related services fell 1.66%, while fishing, aquaculture and related support services rose 0.82%.

Among the main product groups, prices of annual crops declined 0.62%, while perennial crops increased 8.33%. Prices of live animals and animal products rose 0.67%.

Vegetable prices record sharpest annual increase

Among the individual product groups, vegetables, melons, watermelons, roots and tubers recorded the highest annual increase, rising 84.34%.

The largest monthly decline was recorded in tropical and subtropical fruits, whose prices fell 13.61% in July.(ILKHA)
