Chicken meat production reached 237,567 tonnes in April 2025, marking a 2.6% increase from the previous month’s total of 231,595 tonnes. On an annual basis, production jumped 23.5% compared to April 2024. The number of slaughtered chickens also rose significantly, up 20.7% year-on-year.
In contrast, hen egg production in April totaled 1.55 billion units, reflecting a 5.0% month-on-month decrease and a 9.1% decline compared to the same month last year.

However, the poultry sector overall remained strong, with the number of slaughtered chickens increasing by 11.5% and chicken meat production rising 14.8% year-on-year for the same four-month period.
The data highlights a dynamic shift in Türkiye’s poultry industry, with meat production on the rise despite a contraction in egg output. (ILKHA)
