Türkiye’s exports reach $200.6 billion in first nine months of 2025

Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade announced on Monday that the country’s exports reached $200 billion 625 million in the January–September 2025 period, marking a 4.1% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the Ministry’s data, exports increased in 46 provinces, while 27 provinces surpassed the $1 billion mark, underscoring the growing spread of export capacity across the country.
In its statement, the Ministry emphasized that Türkiye continues to advance confidently despite global trade challenges, geopolitical tensions, and economic uncertainties. The statement highlighted that Türkiye’s strong infrastructure — from production to logistics — and its competitive power in international markets are the main driving forces behind this growth.
The Ministry noted that the rise in export figures across 46 provinces reflects the increasingly diverse regional contributions to the national economy, showing that Türkiye’s export success is no longer confined to its industrial hubs.
During the first nine months of 2025, 27 provinces achieved exports exceeding $1 billion, with Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Izmir, and Tekirdağ leading the rankings.
According to the data, the top exporting provinces and their figures were as follows: Istanbul led with $4.512 billion, followed by Kocaeli at $2.827 billion, Bursa at $1.809 billion, Izmir at $1.803 billion, and Tekirdağ at $1.189 billion.
These provinces were followed by Ankara, Sakarya, Gaziantep, Mersin, Manisa, and Hatay, which also recorded high export performances.
Türkiye’s total exports in September 2025 amounted to $22 billion 607 million, compared to $21 billion 956 million in the same month of 2024 — representing a 3% year-on-year increase.
In September 2025, several Turkish provinces recorded significant export increases. Bursa led with a remarkable $301 million surge, followed by Çorum with a $214 million rise. Izmir also saw a substantial boost, with exports up by $172 million, while Hatay and Aksaray reported increases of $60 million and $55 million, respectively.
The Ministry’s report attributed these gains to a rise in industrial output, new market diversification strategies, and the expansion of export-oriented sectors in manufacturing and technology.
The Ministry of Trade stated that Türkiye remains resilient amid global trade slowdowns, stressing that the country’s diversified export structure and industrial transformation policies are key to maintaining momentum.
“Despite global uncertainties and geopolitical risks, Türkiye continues to take firm steps forward with its strong production and export infrastructure,” the statement read.
Officials added that the government’s ongoing focus on digital transformation, logistics development, and trade diplomacy will further strengthen Türkiye’s export performance in the final quarter of the year. (ILKHA)
