Türkiye’s service eExports reach $124.9 billion in 2025
Türkiye’s service exports rose 6.5 percent year-on-year to $124.9 billion in 2025, while service imports increased 9.6 percent to $61.9 billion, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said in a statement on Friday.
According to international service trade statistics, Türkiye’s total service exports increased from $117.3 billion in 2024 to $124.9 billion in 2025, marking a significant expansion in the country’s services sector.
During the same period, service imports climbed from $56.4 billion to $61.9 billion, representing a 9.6 percent annual increase.
Travel services continued to account for the largest share of Türkiye’s service exports in 2025, representing 48.1 percent of total exports.
Transportation services followed with a 34.1 percent share, while other business services accounted for 6.3 percent.
Transportation service exports increased 3.5 percent year-on-year to $42.571 billion in 2025.
Meanwhile, telecommunications, computer and information services recorded particularly strong growth. Exports in the sector surged 25.3 percent, reaching $6.724 billion during the year.
Transportation services also represented the largest category of Türkiye’s service imports in 2025, accounting for 32 percent of the total.
Other business services followed with a 16.9 percent share, while travel services represented 14.5 percent of total service imports.
European Union member states remained Türkiye’s largest service trading partners in 2025 when travel services were excluded.
Türkiye exported $25.33 billion worth of services to EU countries and imported $24.733 billion in services from the bloc.
The EU accounted for 37.9 percent of Türkiye’s service exports and 45.3 percent of its service imports, excluding travel services.
The United States ranked as Türkiye’s largest destination for service exports excluding travel services in 2025, with exports reaching $8.338 billion, representing a 12.9 percent share.
Germany followed with an 11.5 percent share, while the United Kingdom accounted for 6.6 percent.
On the import side, Ireland ranked first, with Türkiye’s service imports from the country reaching $6.667 billion, equivalent to 12.6 percent of total service imports excluding travel.
The United Kingdom followed with $4.797 billion, while the United States ranked third with $4.378 billion.
The figures highlight the growing importance of services in Türkiye’s external trade, with strong performances in travel, transportation and technology-related services contributing to the continued expansion of the sector. (ILKHA)
