Friday sermon to call on worshippers to reflect on creation and strengthen faith
The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has announced that the Friday sermon prepared for today, to be delivered in mosques across Türkiye, will emphasize that the order and harmony of the universe clearly point to the existence of Allah, while faith brings peace and reassurance to the human heart and disbelief renders life meaningless.
According to the sermon text, titled “Everything Speaks of Allah,” worshippers will be invited to reflect deeply on the signs of creation. The sermon will note that the flawless movement of planets in their orbits, the sun illuminating the earth, and the moon and stars adorning the night all testify to a Creator who brought everything into existence from nothing, shaped it with wisdom, and continues to govern it. Verses from the Noble Qur’an will be cited to encourage believers to contemplate the sky, the mountains, and the earth as clear manifestations of divine wisdom.
The sermon will stress that disbelief is among the main causes of human misery, as it strips life of meaning, deepens loneliness, and weakens a sense of responsibility. In contrast, faith will be described as a priceless treasure that grants inner peace, security, and clarity, freeing the human soul from the darkness of purposelessness. Referring to a Qur’anic verse, the sermon will emphasize that Allah guides the hearts of those who believe and that He has full knowledge of all things.
Addressing the fundamental questions of existence, the sermon will state that humanity cannot discover where it comes from, where it is heading, or why it was created by denying the Exalted Creator. It will underline that without divine revelation, it becomes impossible to clearly distinguish between what is truly good and what is evil.
The text will also highlight that evil and oppression do not originate from Allah, who is described as Most Merciful and as desiring only good for humanity. Rather, injustice and cruelty arise from human beings who follow their desires and submit to their whims. This point will be reinforced with a verse from the Noble Qur’an stating that Allah does not wrong people, but that people wrong themselves.
The sermon will further recall that Allah bestowed a great blessing upon humanity by sending prophets as bearers of glad tidings and warners, and by revealing divine books to distinguish truth from falsehood and right from wrong. It will state that this chain of revelation was completed with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Noble Qur’an, and that the creation of the eternal Hereafter ensures ultimate justice by granting everyone their due.
Concluding with a call to responsibility, the sermon will urge Muslims to open their hearts to those at risk of being swept into disbelief and to introduce them to the divine message. It will emphasize the duty of nurturing the faith of young people through the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and instilling love for Allah in children through kindness, compassion, and good example. The sermon will conclude with a prophetic saying reminding believers that guiding even a single person to the right path is better than all worldly possessions over which the sun rises and sets.
