In the heart of Diyarbakır, a city rich in cultural and historical significance, a panel titled “The Trust of the Ummah: Al-Quds and Gaza” was held to commemorate Al-Quds Global Week.
The panel, hosted by ITTIHADUL ULEMA and attended by prominent scholars, opinion leaders, and NGOs, shed light on the ongoing plight and heroic resistance of the Palestinian people.
Among the speakers was HAMAS Spokesperson Fawzi Barhum, whose stirring address encapsulated the spiritual, historical, and strategic significance of the Palestinian struggle.
The Spiritual Pillars of Resistance
Barhum’s speech drew deeply from Islamic scripture, reminding the audience of the divine promise of victory for those who fight in the path of justice. He invoked verses from the Quran to illustrate the eternal struggle between truth and falsehood, emphasizing that even in their weakest moments, the oppressed are destined to inherit the land.
“This is an equation between truth and falsehood,” Barhum declared. “Allah grants victory to His mujahideen servants, even if they are weak.” His words resonated with the audience, as he recounted how Gaza, often described as the world’s largest open-air prison, has managed to turn its suffering into strength. The panel reiterated that the people of Gaza embody the Prophet Muhammad’s prophecy about a steadfast group defending the sanctity of Jerusalem and its surroundings.
The Strategic Depth of the Aqsa Flood Operation
Barhum highlighted the meticulous preparation and resolve that led to the Aqsa Flood Operation, launched on October 7, 2023. “We prepared our men, our mujahideen, our youth, and our weapons,” he said, detailing how the Al-Qassam Brigades have built an extensive network of tunnels and developed indigenous weaponry to counter the occupation’s superior firepower.
This operation, he explained, was not just a military endeavor but a message to the world: that the Palestinian resistance is neither broken nor deterred by decades of aggression. The sight of captured Israeli soldiers being handed over in uniforms, flanked by the disciplined and determined youth of the Al-Qassam Brigades, was framed as a moment of honor for the resistance and a stark humiliation for the occupiers.
The Humanitarian Catastrophe and Call to Action
Amid the military narratives, the panel did not shy away from addressing the humanitarian crisis inflicted by the occupation. Schools, hospitals, and homes in Gaza have been reduced to rubble, leaving 20,000 orphans and countless families bereft of basic necessities. Yet, even in this dire scenario, Gaza’s resilience shines through.
Barhum called upon scholars and the wider Ummah to step forward in rebuilding Gaza, describing it as a “war of reconstruction and preparation.” He emphasized the need for a unified strategy to keep Palestine, Al-Quds, and Al-Aqsa at the heart of the Muslim world’s collective consciousness.
Scholars as Torchbearers of Liberation
In a passionate appeal, Barhum underscored the pivotal role of scholars in galvanizing the Ummah. “Jerusalem and Gaza are a trust upon the shoulders of the scholars before the Ummah,” he said. He urged the scholars to foster a culture of jihad and resistance, rally financial support for the mujahideen, and prepare the youth to defend the holy land.
This call to action was not limited to material support but extended to spiritual and ideological solidarity. “The issue of Palestine is not merely a national or ethnic struggle,” he emphasized. “It is the central issue of the Ummah, a relic entrusted to us all.”
A Vision of Liberation
The essay concluded with a resounding note of optimism and faith. Barhum reaffirmed the resistance’s ultimate goal: the liberation of Palestine, Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa Mosque. “We will triumph,” he declared, “as we triumphed in the flood in Gaza.” This vision, rooted in faith and sustained by unwavering commitment, serves as a beacon of hope for the oppressed and a rallying cry for justice.
In the face of immense adversity, Gaza continues to inspire. Its struggle is not just a fight for land but a battle for dignity, justice, and the right to exist. The spirit of resistance emanating from Gaza serves as a powerful reminder to the world: that even in the darkest hours, the human spirit remains unbreakable. (ILKHA)
