HÜDA PAR MP Faruk Dinç voices support for miners protesting over unpaid labor rights
HÜDA PAR Member of Parliament Faruk Dinç visited miners affiliated with the Independent Mine Workers’ Union (Bağımsız Maden-İş), who are staging a protest in front of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources over unpaid wages and other outstanding labor entitlements.
Dinç was accompanied by HÜDA PAR Ankara Provincial Chairman Ahmet Karaarslan and a delegation during the visit.
The protesting miners are demanding the payment of their outstanding salaries, notice pay, severance pay and union compensation. During the meeting, Dinç listened to the workers’ grievances and received firsthand accounts of the difficulties they have been experiencing.
Dinç said he would convey the miners’ demands to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and request a meeting with ministry officials to discuss possible solutions to the dispute.
“We will convey your concerns to the Ministry and submit our request for a meeting,” Dinç said, emphasizing that the delegation’s visit was intended to demonstrate solidarity with the miners.
He stressed that standing against injustice and defending workers’ rights was a responsibility that could not be ignored.
“If there is an injustice somewhere, we must stand against it. Our faith commands us to do this; it is not something left optional for us,” Dinç said.
Expressing hope that the dispute would be resolved soon, Dinç said the miners should be able to return to their jobs and livelihoods while receiving the full compensation they are entitled to for their work.
“God willing, this hardship will end soon. You will return to your work and livelihood, and justice will be established so that you receive what you are rightfully owed for your labor and the sweat of your brow,” he said.
Dinç said he would continue to pursue the miners’ demands with the relevant authorities and take the necessary initiatives to help resolve the dispute. (ILKHA)
