Türkiye’s Higher Education Council pledges continued support for Palestinian students
Türkiye’s Higher Education Council (YÖK) will continue supporting Palestinian students in accessing higher education and continuing their studies despite ongoing difficulties, YÖK President Erol Özvar said.
Özvar hosted Palestinian Ambassador to Ankara Nasri Abu Jaish at the Council’s headquarters, where they discussed the educational situation of Palestinian students and support mechanisms for their academic continuity.
During the meeting, the conditions of Palestinian students in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Jordan were reviewed, according to Özvar.
Özvar praised Palestinian students who have continued their education despite challenging circumstances, stating that Türkiye has provided support for Palestinian students’ access to higher education since the beginning of the crisis.
He said Türkiye would maintain its efforts to assist Palestinian students and thanked Ambassador Nasri Abu Jaish for his visit and contribution to the discussions.(ILKHA)
