Makan Nasiri’s story to be adapted into film following Minab school massacre
Iranian filmmaker Siyamak Merdane has announced plans to produce a film based on the story of Makan Nasiri, a seven-year-old child martyred in a school attack in Minab carried out by the United States and the Israeli regime.
According to the filmmaker, the screenplay focuses on Nasiri’s life and the circumstances surrounding his death. He stated that the child’s body was never recovered after the incident, leaving the family in prolonged grief and uncertainty.
The film narrative is set to begin two nights before the reported attack in Minab and continue through to the present day. Merdane also noted that a symbolic empty grave has been prepared at a mosque in memory of the child.
The director said he reached the family through relatives in Humayni Shahr after extensive efforts, adding that they agreed to share their experiences despite the emotional difficulty of recounting the events.
He further stated that the family remains in a highly sensitive emotional condition due to the loss, while expressing appreciation for public solidarity and support shown during the process.
The project is expected to focus on themes of loss, memory, and the long-term impact of violent incidents on affected families. (ILKHA)
